What needs review for Aluminium?
Aluminium selection starts with the alloy, temper and product form, not the word aluminium alone. Review strength needs, machining geometry and finishing together.
Engineering considerations
- Compare 6061, 7075 and sheet grades such as 5052 against the intended component; do not transfer properties between product forms.
- Confirm the temper and material documentation, and identify thin walls or deep pockets for workholding review.
- Specify anodising or other finishes, masking and final dimensions. Use the material guide for source-based comparison.
